Moynihan Train Hall

Moynihan Train Hall opened in 2021 as an expansion of Penn Station, and will be New York City’s largest transportation hub by volume of commuters daily. On the team at Billings Jackson Design, I collaborated with SOM on several touch-points of the train hall including Commuter Standing Tables throughout the main concourse, LIRR information area, and the Amtrak ticketing area. I designed the tables from concept to design for manufacturing, having presented iterations to SOM and stakeholders. The tables conform to ergonomic and code standards and incorporate materials and profiles inspired by the new station architecture as well as historic elements salvaged from the original early 20th century Farley Post Office building, and include USB/power outlets and LED lighting.

Designed in collaboration with Billings Jackson Design. All design work belongs to Billings Jackson Design
